Texas Roadhouse Inc. is making another big investment in Louisville — 16 stories big.
The Louisville-based company purchased Wright Tower, formerly Kaden Tower, at 6100 Dutchman’s Lane on Friday for $12 million, according to a deed filed with the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office.
The seller was Florida-based real estate firm In-Rel Properties, which bought the building in 2018 for $10.5 million.
Texas Roadhouse’s corporate headquarters is located at 6040 Dutchman’s Lane, which is adjacent to Wright Tower.
In an emailed statement to Business First, the company said the addition of Wright Tower to its corporate campus will provide room for extra growth. The company did not provide further details about its plans for the property.
“We are excited to bring together two local icons, Texas Roadhouse and Wright Tower. Adding Wright Tower to our Support Center campus supports our long-term commitment to our hometown and creates space for future growth," the statement read.
TRIO Commercial Property Group represented Texas Roadhouse in the transaction and will be the property manager for Wright Tower moving forward, a Texas Roadhouse spokesperson told Business First.
Wright Tower is one of Louisville’s most iconic office buildings not located Downtown. It was designed in 1966 by Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural firm, Taliesin Associated Architects, and protégé William Wesley Peters.
Wright Tower is the 43rd largest office building in Louisville based on square footage, according to LBF research, at 115,530 square feet.
The 16-story tower is home to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse on the top floor and also includes tenants such as Blessings in a Backpack, Emery Law Office and SRS Real Estate Partners.
Texas Roadhouse is Louisville’s fourth-largest publicly traded company, according to Louisville Business First research, with $5.88 billion of revenue in 2025.
The company operates 822 restaurants systemwide, including 749 Texas Roadhouse locations across 49 U.S. states and 10 countries. The company also operates the Bubba’s 33 and Jaggers restaurant concepts.
The purchase comes one year after Texas Roadhouse purchased its 6040 Dutchman’s Lane headquarters for $25 million from Paragon Centre Holdings LLC.
The HQ property consists of two office buildings and an on-site café, Willie’s Joynt, totaling 133,023 square feet.
Texas Roadhouse (NYSE: TXRH) employs nearly 800 people at its headquarters, 2,000 workers in the Greater Louisville area and 100,000 worldwide.
In an interview last year with Louisville Business First, CEO Jerry Morgan said buying the headquarters — which the company calls the Support Center — was Texas Roadhouse’s way of committing to Louisville.
Texas Roadhouse was founded by Kent Taylor in 1993. Before that, he worked for Bennigan’s in the 1980s and later as a manager at KFC in the early 1990s. His first concept, Buckhead Grill & Bar, opened in 1991. Taylor died in 2021 at age 65.
In-Rel Properties, which sold Wright Tower, also owned Meidinger Tower until the company was sued by its lender after defaulting on a $28 million loan. Indianapolis-based KennMar is expected to close on a deal to buy Meidinger Tower.
