A Louisville-based engineering firm is relocating its offices.
Sabak, Wilson & Lingo Inc. is moving to the second floor of 301 E. Main St. near Louisville Slugger Field in November, Matt Wolff, principal and partner, told Business First.
The firm is currently located in the Henry Clay building, where it’s been since 2011. About 20 people work out of the 3,400-square-foot Henry Clay office, he said, while the new Main Street office will be 5,262 square feet.
Wolff said the new location will allow Sabak, Wilson & Lingo to add as many as five new hires, while moving its six-person field crew from the Hikes Lane area to Downtown.
“We’ve been around for 52 years now and our growth is due to the fact we need to add young people. It’s kind of a youth movement. We have folks who have been around here for 40 years,” Wolff said. “And then the market is still strong with development.”
“We’re looking to grow and expand so needed a little more square footage.”
Sabak, Wilson & Lingo provides planning, landscape, architectural, surveying and aerial drone services to public and private clients, according to its website.
The company is among the city’s largest engineering firms, according to Louisville Business First research, with a local employment of 26 people. Sabak, Wilson & Lingo have worked on several prominent local projects in recent years, including the Mashup Food Hall at NuLu Yard, REBOUND Inc.’s justice center, the Tempo by Hilton and Jefferson County Public Schools’ new Early Childhood Learning Center.
The new office will be inside a two story, nearly 25,000-square-foot building built in 1922, according to Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator records. It is owned by Cobalt 301 East Main LLC, which lists its registered agent as Todd Blue. Cobalt bought the building in 2000 for $412,200.
Sabak, Wilson & Lingo’s new office will feature multiple conference rooms, a large kitchen area, large windows, 10 private offices and an open office area, Wolff said.
Renovations are expected to begin at the end of this month and cost $393,957, according to a permit filed with Louisville Metro Planning and Design. Louisville-based Studio A Architect is the architect on the project, while Louisville-based Rhino Interiors LLC is the contractor. Taylor Thompson of Louisville-based PRG Commercial Property Advisors represented Sabak, Wilson & Lingo in its office search, Wolff said.
“We’ll finally have a lot of glass and sunlight for everybody. It will be nice,” Wolff said.
